Gestational Carrier FAQ

💕Let’s Build Something Together!

We’re so grateful you’re here. We’re a loving couple living at the Jersey Shore in New Jersey, and we’re searching for a very special person to help us grow our family—a gestational carrier (sometimes called a surrogate) - who will carry our baby with love, care, and kindness.

Here are answers to some frequently asked questions to help you learn more about our journey, what we’re looking for, and how this could be the start of something incredible for all of us.

🏡 Who are you guys?

Bridget + Kyle are a married couple living in Monmouth County, NJ, just steps from the Jersey Shore. Together, they are raising Edie, Bridget’s daughter from a previous marriage, and she is SO excited to become a big sister! Our family is full of love, laughter, and adventure, and we can’t wait to share that with another little boy or girl.

❓ What is “The Greatest Ask?”

Please, please, please, be our gestational carrier and help us build our family with the lovely addition of a little boy or little girl! We know it is a HUGE ask, but we need someone’s help due to Bridget’s inability to carry a pregnancy after battling breast cancer.

🍼 Whose baby will I be carrying?

You would be carrying one embryo created from Bridget’s egg, which was cryopreserved (frozen) before chemotherapy treatment, and Kyle’s sperm. So while you would be carrying the pregnancy, you would not be genetically related to the baby.

🎗️ Why does the couple need a gestational carrier?

Bridget is a breast cancer survivor. After being diagnosed with stage 3 hormone-positive breast cancer, her doctors advised her that carrying a pregnancy could put her health at risk as she tries to maximize her protection against cancer recurrence. Bridget is in medically induced menopause and is taking medications now that forever pose a risk to a baby’s development in utero. Bridget is so thankful that she was able to preserve her eggs before cancer treatment. Now, having completed active treatment and her heart wide open, she’s dreaming of completing her family—with your help.

🧬 Is the embryo healthy?

Yes! Bridget + Kyle are working with a top reproductive endocrinologist and have completed extensive genetic carrier screening and are not carriers of any known genetic conditions, including anything related to breast cancer. Their embryo is healthy and waiting for the right person to help bring him or her into the world.

🩺 What’s involved medically for the gestational carrier?

You would need to be screened by Bridget + Kyle’s reproductive endocrinologist, which would involve a review of your medical history (including past pregnancies/births), a psychological screening, and a physical exam with ultrasound. These appointments would all be private and protected through doctor/patient confidentiality. Should our doctor feel you are a good fit, you would need to take IVF medications to prepare your body for the embryo transfer. These are safe and commonly used in gestational surrogacy. All medications, appointments, co-pays, deductibles—everything medical-related—will be fully covered by us.

✅ What are the requirements for the gestational carrier?

Great question! Our ideal gestational carrier is:

  • Someone who has already given birth to a healthy baby (this is required by law).

  • Located in the NJ tri-state area (or someone with a flexible schedule who can spend extended time in NJ during key parts of the process).

  • Willing to travel to Monmouth County, NJ for medical appointments, screenings, and the embryo transfer process.

  • Comfortable using IVF medications to prepare for pregnancy.

  • Open to working with a surrogacy attorney to protect both you and us—we will cover all legal costs.

  • Either has her own surrogacy-friendly health insurance, or is open to us purchasing a plan that works for this journey. We will cover all co-pays, coinsurance, deductibles, etc.

  • Open to having us involved in prenatal care, ultrasounds, and delivery—we’d love to support you and be part of every step.

  • Excited to build a life-long friendship through this deeply meaningful experience.

🎂 Is there an age limit? What if I’m in perimenopause or have had my ovaries removed?

No age limit here! If you’re in good health, have previously carried a pregnancy to term with a successful birth, and can take IVF medications with medical clearance, you may still be a wonderful fit, even if you’re in perimenopause or have had your ovaries removed.

📅 When are you hoping to begin?

We’d love to begin as soon as possible, but we know this is a deeply personal decision. We’re not in a rush—we’re searching for the right match. We believe that the right person will come along at the right time.

📱 Why are you sharing this on social media?

The traditional surrogacy route is often cost-prohibitive—it’s a for-profit industry with high agency fees, which makes it inaccessible for many families, including ours. We’ve seen first hand the power of community. We believe that this journey doesn’t have to be transactional. In 2020, our daughter’s life was saved by a living organ donor who selflessly stepped up to help our family. Over 100 qualified strangers applied to be screened, and we know that kindness continues. We believe in miracles—and we believe that there are people who are angels on Earth.

✞ Do you have a spiritual connection to this journey?

Absolutely. We believe that God has a plan for our lives. We have encountered challenges and hardships, but we have persevered. This journey to find a gestational carrier isn’t just about growing our family—it’s about growing our hearts and forming a bond with someone truly special. We hope that God will use us to spread awareness about a key issue that is often overlooked for young families who have survived cancer.

❤️ How do I get in touch or learn more?

We’d love to hear from you—whether you’re curious, interested, or simply want to ask more questions. This is a journey we want to walk hand-in-hand with someone who feels just as excited and honored to be part of it.
